Svetlana's Biography
Svetlana Royal received her musical education in Russia, from the Penza Musical College. She also has had additional training with professional voice coach from Moscow Conservatory and operatic training from vocal coach and experienced opera performer.
After college Svetlana worked as a choral and piano teacher in music school for five years. Afterwards, she auditioned and was accepted as a performer with the Russian Penza Philharmonic. She performed consistently for 12 years and was awarded a Superior Performance Proficency Rating. While in the Philharmonic, Svetlana sang a wide variety of genres, including Operatic Arias by composers such as Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky, Borodin, Musorgsky, Mozart, Puccini, Gershwin, Solos from cantatas, oratorios, and masses by Mozart, Schubert, Bach, Pergolezy, Art songs, folk songs, musical theatre pieces, and has performed as the soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. Svetlana has sung professionally in German, Italian, Russian, Latin, English, and French.
Since 2002, Svetlana has been teaching in the United States, and has helped provide classical vocal training to numerous students who have been accepted to schools such as Westminster Choir College, Eastman School of Music (Opera Program), Savannah College of Art and Design, UNC-Chapel Hill, UNC-Greensboro (Opera Program), Salem College, Wingate, Liberty University, and many more – all of which offered her students full or partial scholarships as voice majors.
